Bingo Jackpots Explained
Online bingo is appealing for many reasons, but one thing in particular that gets players excited is the size of the prizes on offer. Because there are so many people playing bingo online, many of the sites are able to give away prizes that are much larger than could ever be won by playing the game live. The prizes in many of the games are very good compared to the price you pay to enter, but it's at the jackpot games where the really big money is to be won.
Some of the jackpots at the top sites can be quite huge, and there are many stories of people who have received life-changing amounts of money. We have listed a selection of sites that offer big jackpots below, and we also explain more about the different types of jackpots and how these special games work.
Bingo Sites with Big Jackpots
If big prizes are what you are after, then we recommend playing at any, or all, of the following sites. Not only are these all very reputable and of high quality, but they also all regularly have very large jackpots on offer. We can't promise that you'll win, of course, but you are bound to have a lot of fun trying.

Types of Jackpots
There are many different types of jackpots that can be won playing online bingo, and many sites have their own unique way of offering prizes. However, for the most part there are four main categories: fixed, guaranteed, progressive, and sliding. It should be noted that some jackpots can fall into more than one of these categories.
A fixed jackpot, quite simply, is when the prize is fixed at a specified amount. Regardless of how many people enter the game, if the prize is won, it will be for the fixed amount. A guaranteed jackpot will be at least a certain amount, irrespective of other factors. It might be higher than that amount, but it won't be any less.
Progressive jackpots are those that increase over time if not won. Progressive jackpots tend to be the biggest, especially if they are particularly difficult to win. Sliding jackpots are almost like a reverse of progressives. The main prize is a specified amount in a sliding jackpot game, but that amount is reduced after every few calls.
Jackpot Game Rules
In a broad sense, the principle of jackpot games is pretty much the same: you meet the required criteria to win the game and you win the big prize. The exact rules, and the required criteria, will vary depending on which game you are playing and at what site. In some games, it can be relatively easy to win; in others it can be quite hard. You shouldn't be put off by games where it's hard to win, because it's often just these games where jackpots tend to be very large.
In some games, the jackpot is guaranteed to be won, and in others it can only be won if a specific pattern is covered within a specified number of calls. Although sites generally try and keep game rules as simple as possible, in jackpot games they can sometimes be quite complicated. It's a very good idea to take the time to read the rules and fully understand them.
As a final point, be very wary about playing these games using bonus money. Some sites prohibit you from winning a jackpot if you are playing with a bonus, and the last thing you want to do is win a dream prize and then find out you aren't eligible for it. This rule is reasonably rare, but it does exist, so please make sure you always check first.
