Bet365 To Move Headquarters
The major UK online bookmaker Bet365 has announced plans to relocate its headquarters from its current site in Stoke-on-Trent to new multi-million pound offices. Currently based in Festival Park in Stoke, the company is planning to knock down existing offices in nearby Etruria and build a new three-story building.
Their new 13,000 square meter headquarters will be nearly double the size of their existing base. Over the next few years Bet365, which currently employs over 2,000 members of staff, will be looking to create an extra 600 jobs in the area as a result of the move.
Bet365 is already the largest private employer in the region and is one of very few UK online gambling companies not to move its operations overseas. The company has always stressed its belief that they should generate employment locally. Joint chief executive Denise Coates said: “We are proud to be the largest private sector employer in Stoke-On-Trent so we like to think this is good news for us and good news for the city.”
“We have reached the stage where we have outgrown our existing offices and it’s important for us to proceed with this project which will enable us to continue to base ourselves in the area, taking account of both our existing workforce and planned future growth.”
Work on the new offices is expected to start next year some time with a view to the company moving in early in 2016. Bet365’s current offices will be sold off or let out at this time.
