Nominations Announced for British Poker Awards
The nominations for this year’s upcoming British Poker Awards have been announced, with plenty of familiar names included. This year will be the fourth time these annual awards have been handed out and, once again, some of them will be voted for by the public while others will be decided by a judging panel. The panel includes Bluff magazine and American poker commentator and player Jesse May.
There will be a total of 17 awards given out in a variety of different categories, including Best Live Tournament Player, Best Online Cash Player and Best Online Tournament Player. This last category has been won three times in a row by Chris Moorman and he is once again in the running this year. He is up against other nominees such as Charlie Combes and Toby Lewis.
Another player to have won a number of previous awards is Sam Trickett, who won two awards in the first year and another three subsequently. Trickett is nominated in the Best Live Tournament Player category but is up against stiff competition in Matt Ashton and David Vamplew. He is definitely in with a chance though, as he is a popular player in the United Kingdom.
Unusually, the nominations have all been declared before a date has been set for the awards ceremony. It is likely that this will be announced soon, along with the venue. For more information on the awards please visit www.thebritishpokerawards.com. You can also enter your votes at this site.
