European Poker Tour To Celebrate 100th Event In Style
The 11th season of the European Poker Tour (EPT) takes place this year and it looks like being a special one. The season starts at Barcelona with what will be the 100th event of the tour and the organizers have promised to mark this occasion in style.
The very first EPT tournament took place in Barcelona, as part of the Barcelona Open, and the tour has subsequently become incredibly popular. There have been tournaments in 16 different countries, over 180,000 players have taken part, and 39 millionaires have been created.
“The EPT was born In Barcelona”, said EPT President Edgar Stuchly, “so it’s very fitting to celebrate EPT’s 100th event in true style and with unforgettable poker”.
Starting on August 16th, the EPT will be teaming up with their Spanish Partner – the Estrallas Poker Tour – to try and create the largest ever poker festival to be held in Europe. They hope that all previous records for prize money and attendances will be broken and will be increasing their capacity to allow for larger fields.
The most recent Barcelona EPT, in 2013, already broke a number of records, with the two main events attracting fields of 1,798 and 1,234. If the tour does achieve its aim of breaking records once again then the 2014 festival will certainly be one to remember.
