Full Tilt Poker Repayments Expected by March 31st
It is coming up for three years since Full Tilt Poker was forced to stop servicing online poker players in the United States and, finally, it looks like many of those who lost their balances can expect a resolution soon. It has been announced that players that are owed funds should be repaid by March 31st next year.
Full Tilt Poker has its .com domain seized by the US Department of Justice back in April 2011 and also had a number of its bank accounts frozen. The domain was later returned to the company on the proviso that they repaid balances to US customers and then stopped letting them play. By June players had still not been repaid and Full Tilt had their gaming license suspended.
Amid speculation that the company had been using player funds to operate its business, all play at the site came to an abrupt end. The following year another poker site, PokerStars, purchased Full Tilt Poker and undertakings were made to ensure that former players would eventually get their money back.
The Garden City Group has been acting as a claims administrator for US players and they recently set a deadline for former players to submit a claim for monies owed. That deadline passed this weekend (November 16), and it has now been announced that successful claimants should receive fund by March 31st 2014.
