Ladbrokes Release Date for iPoker Move
Ladbrokes will finally be live on the iPoker online poker network later this month, several months after announcing its plans to migrate from the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN). According to its website Ladbrokes will launch its new poker room on December 21st, less than two weeks from now.
It was back in March that the gambling site first made public its intentions to move to iPoker but it has clearly taken some time to get everything in place. Their poker room has remained running on MPN during that time and their casino will be still be using Microgaming software for a few months as part of their contractual obligations.
Players at Ladbrokes will retain all account balances, active bonuses and loyalty points in the move. They will have to choose a new screen name though, which can obviously not be the same as any name already in use across the iPoker network.
Any player on a rakeback deal will have that deal cancelled as iPoker does not allow rakeback. There will be a VIP system in place to ensure they are still rewarded for their activity though. At the point of the network move all players will be placed on the highest VIP level they have achieved at any point in the last 12 months and will be given one month to maintain that status.
Just last week another major poker site using Microgaming software, Unibet, announced that it will also be leaving the network and combined with Ladbroke’s imminent departure there is sure to be a significant drop off in traffic at MPN. Meanwhile iPoker looks set to continue its growth.
