LeBron Versus Heat on Christmas Day Headlines 2014-15 NBA Schedule
The Miami Heat will have their day. Their day to pay back LeBron James for leaving them that is, when they face off against James’ new (and old) team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, on Christmas day this year.
LeBron’s former team will have their chance to exact revenge in that game, while James will also have Kevin Love in tow when he faces Dwyane Wade and company. Love will face his own former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, for the first time ever on October 31st.
James’ return to South Beach to take on the team he won two titles with is just one of five star-studded Christmas day NBA showdowns. Basketball fans will also be graced with matchups between the Wizards and Knicks, Rockets and Lakers and Spurs and Mavericks.
The Los Angeles Lakers have some demons to exercise during the new season, as well, as they move past the Donald Sterling era with back-to-back games at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder on October 30th and then the California rival Los Angeles Lakers the next day.
It all gets started for the big names on October 30th, when James makes his second ever debut with the Cavaliers when he takes on Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks. From there, Cleveland goes on to take on a hopefully healthy Derrick Rose at the United Center in Chicago one day later to complete a back-to-back to get the 2014-15 NBA season going.
It’s already a dramatic setting for yet another thrilling NBA season, one that could very well have James and the Cavs eyeing a trip to the NBA Finals. The Bulls and Heat both could have something to say about it, but with Love added to the mix, Cleveland is starting to look like the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. All of their efforts may be for nothing, though, as the San Antonio Spurs still look like quite an obstacle out West.
