“New Jersey’s Next Poker Millionaire” Promotion Creates Big Winner
The biggest poker promotion to be run so far in New Jersey’s regulated online poker market has created its first big winner. “New Jersey’s Next Poker Millionaire” promotion, which was run jointly by Borgota Poker and Party Poker, culminated in a televised live event and was won by Myroslaw “onetime99” Woroch.
For this achievement Woroch has walked away with a prize package of tournament entries and cash worth $1 million. Having gone into the heads up stage of the event with a significant chip advantage over his opponent Steven “ChipsJammed” Edwards, he made made it work for him and in the final hand flopped a straight which held up to secure his victory.
After his big win Woroch, who had never previously won more than $7,000 playing poker, said “It was truly a surreal experience when I knew I had him beat. When that final card came out my emotions were running wild”.
The live event, held at the Borgota Hotel Casino & Spa featured a field of eight players who had qualified online playing a series of tournaments at either Borgota Poker or Party Poker. Woroch’s prize package includes, among other things, a seat in the WPT World Championship and entries into a number of live tournaments at the Borgota casino. He also had a substantial sum of cash deposited into his online poker account.
Vince Alonge, director of poker operations at Borgota, was pleased with the promotion and the interest it had attracted. “New Jersey’s Next Poker Millionaire signifies a historic event in the evolution of internet gaming”.
