Qualifying for New Jersey Championship of Online Poker Starts Today
Online poker players in the state of New Jersey can attempt to qualify for the inaugural New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (NJCOP) from today. Satellite tournaments are starting at NJ.PartyPoker.com and BorgataPoker.com and anyone able to log in from within the state will be eligible to play.
The NJCOP was announced earlier this month and will take place in April. It has been organized to coincide with the WPT World Championship event which is taking place at the Borgata in Atlantic City from April 21st to 26th.
There will be a total of 15 tournaments as part of the NJCOP and a guaranteed $600,000 in prize money. The Main Event is the highlight, with a $200 buy-in and $200,000 guaranteed. The winner will walk away with a minimum $50,000.
Mike Sexton, of team PartyPoker, had this to say – “If you love poker then you need to be in New Jersey come April 19. The online poker action in New Jersey has been red hot since day one and the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker will be the ultimate test for pros and amateurs alike. What’s more, if you are coming from out of town to play the PartyPoker WPT World Championship at Borgata it is timed so you can make the most of the live and online games.”
Qualifiers for all 15 of the NJCOP tournaments will be available online, starting with buy-ins as low as $1. There will also be a freeroll tournament at the start of the event, where players can win entry to each of the other 14 tournaments.
