Shooting at Las Vegas Casino
In the early hours of Monday morning a fatal shooting took place at a casino in Las Vegas. A gunman opened fire shortly before 6.00 am, killing one victim and injuring two more. A suspect, not yet identified, has subsequently been taken into custody by Las Vegas Metro police.
The incident took place outside Drai’s Nightclub, which is situated inside Bally’s Hotel and Casino. Initial reports regarding the incident state that the shooter was involved in an argument with management of the club. It is believed that argument started when the man wanted a refund of the cover charge he had paid to enter the club.
Following the denial of his refund, it is reported that the man then brandished a gun. A security guard, believed to be the security manager, was then shot in the arm. Another security guard, and a customer that was leaving the club, then attempted to subdue the shooter and take the gun away from him and were both shot.
Other customers then managed to restrain the shooter until the authorities arrived. The three injured parties were taken to the University Medical Center, where the customer who had initially tried to help the situation died.
