The freshly reformatted ESL Pro League Season 11 is coming to a close! The European part of the spectrum has already entered the second stage while the North American portion is one-leg deep into the playoffs. Earlier today, FURIA surprised MIBR and qualified for the lower bracket final where they’re waiting for the losing side from this matchup. As usual, our Evil Geniuses vs. Team Liquid predictions are here to figure out which of these sides will be the losing one!
We’ll do so by examining the past performances of both sides, analyzing their key performers, map presentation, and tactical deployments. It might sound like we’re trying to deliberately overcomplicate the game of CS:GO, but look at it this way – if you’re going to invest your money, you should too!
Evil Geniuses vs. Team Liquid Predictions
What’s the best way of starting our Evil Geniuses vs. Team Liquid predictions? Perhaps the ideal solution would be to kick things off with their recent head to head match that was a part of the ESL Pro League S11 NA group stage.
As many of you know, the match went all the way to the decider map in which, after a hard-fought set of overtimes, Team Liquid emerged as the winning side. It could’ve been anyone’s match, really, and I expect a similar scenario in their upper bracket playoffs contest.
Individually, EliGE and Twistzz did half the job in the group stage match vs. EG on their own. With a total of 166 kills across three maps, this duo showed off their form and announced even greater things to come in the playoffs.
Can Evil Genius Finally Overcome Team Liquid?
However, I reckon Brehze and the EG fellas learned their lessons and will come into this match with a lot more stuff going their way. We saw them do silly mistakes round in and round out, and I reckon there will be no room for that tomorrow. We can expect EG players to come into this match with an extra dose of seriousness, eyeing the grand finals spot which could yield a pretty penny in these trying times.
The last time EG defeated Team Liquid was on the StarLadder Major in a Bo1 that almost cost TL a spot on the Champions Stage. And, need I remind you; this was way back in late august of 2019 when EG was still NRG. Can EG finally get their first win against Team Liquid under the new organization? That’s exactly what the final part of our Evil Geniuses vs. Team Liquid predictions will try to figure out, so go grab yourself a cup of coffee and keep on reading!
EG vs. TL | CS:GO Tips
As stated earlier, Twistzz and EliGE were the driving factors for Liquid’s success over EG a few days ago. However, the boys in blue will need much more than that if they are to defeat EG once again. Plus, what are the odds of Twistzz and EliGE having another near-perfect match in which they average roughly 28 kills per map, each. Is that a bit too much to ask from them, especially after such a rigorous group stage?
What EliGe and Twistzz are to TL, Brehze and CeRq are to Evil Geniuses, there’s no other way of saying it.
With that in mind, I reckon both these sets of players will bring forth their A-game. Anything other than that would result in a catastrophe for their side.
As far as my Evil Geniuses vs. Team Liquid predictions go, I’m kind of leaning towards Evil Geniuses at this point. Yes, their map pool might not be the greatest and it’s been almost a year since they’ve last defeated Team Liquid, but overall, EG showed us better rounds than TL. Yes, they lost to TL just a few days ago, but that was such a tight contest it could’ve easily gone the other way around.
For everyone who’s not willing to take any massive risks here, I recommend going for another decider match. In other words, total rounds over 2.5 is your way to go. You’ll get roughly -105 to -110 on it, depending on where you place your wager.
For everyone else, let’s spice things up and go with a highly risky EG to win 2-1 at +280. EG is going to come into this match with guns blazing on all fronts, so let’s jump on the bandwagon and try to cash some money out!
