Drew Goldfarb, Rick Rockwell, and Taylor Smith are back this week with another edition of the Odds On Favorites podcast.

Pac-12 Conference Season Preview

Football season is just around the corner, and the guys shifted their focus this week to the west coast to discuss the Pac-12 ahead of the upcoming college football campaign. Washington toppled Utah in the conference championship game a season ago. Will Chris Petersen’s squad make it back-to-back conference titles? Or will Justin Herbert lead Oregon back to the top? The Pac-12 has whiffed on the College Football Playoff in each of the last two seasons. Will the conference get a team into the tournament in 2019?

Ohio State is in the news this week thanks to their decision to try and trademark the word “the.” The school prides itself on being “The Ohio State University,” and they’re hoping to sell some merchandise bearing the moniker. The guys give their takes on the Buckeyes’ controversial move.

NFL Betting Favorites – AFC/NFC South

The NFL preseason is in full swing, which means regular season games are just a few weeks away. The New Orleans Saints steamrolled their way to an NFC South crown with a 13-3 record last season, and they’re heavy favorites once again this time around. Can any of the other three teams in the division (Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa Bay) give the Saints a run for their money?

Over in the AFC South, the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans look primed to fight for the division once again. Will Nick Foles help make the Jaguars relevant, or is the division Indy’s or Houston’s to lose?

UFC 241 Betting Picks and Preview

UFC is back this week with UFC 241, which is set to go down in Anaheim, California. It’s looking like one of the better fight cards we’ve seen in quite some time, with three marquee events highlighting the top of the card down in Orange County. The middleweight division features Yoel Romero, the second-ranked fighter in his class, taking on seventh-ranked Paulo Costa. Romero is the betting favorite, but can Costa pull the upset?

The co-main event is a welterweight bout between Nate Diaz and Anthony Pettis. Pettis is listed as a fairly solid -134 betting favorite, but there is reason to believe that Diaz (+104) can win this one. Should bettors take the favorite, or does Diaz provide solid value as a ‘dog?

The main event brings a heavyweight rematch between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic. Cormier got the better of Miocic the first time they fought back in July of last year. Miocic hasn’t fought since his defeat, and he’ll enter the showdown as a +115 underdog. Cormier is favored by oddsmakers to defend his title at -145. Can Miocic get his revenge, or will Cormier make it two wins in two fights over his rival?

NASCAR Night Race Betting Odds

Finally, NASCAR is under the lights this weekend at Bristol for the annual Night Race. Rick nailed his Kevin Harvick prediction last week, so will he make it back-to-back wins this time around? The Busch brothers have a solid track record at Bristol, while Joey Logano always makes for an intriguing betting option.
