This Week in Combat Sports: Bellator 222 Betting Odds, WBSS Cruiserweight Semis, and Fury Fight

By in MMA on

This week in combat sports… The focus begins on boxing. With a handful of events coming up this weekend, there is solid potential to make some good betting plays. But will this weekend see another major upset, or did Anthony Joshua’s fall just get everyone’s hopes up?

Tyson Fury is in action, and Rick Rockwell breaks down his fight. Is it the most exciting boxing bout of the weekend? Rick thinks so, but is there betting potential as well?

Last weekend MMA bettors saw one of the best UFC fight cards of the year, as UFC 238 more than lived up to the hype. Henry Cejudo becoming a double champion (triple champion if you ask him, thanks to his Olympic gold medal), Valentina Shevchenko’s massive knock-out head kick, and an incredibly deep card made that a night to remember.

This week, no UFC, but Bellator puts on a fight card that should be well-deserving of the attention it’ll get. Bellator 222 offers some solid betting value, and Rick has his favorites picked out.

In addition, Rick goes through the co-main event and the main event for Bellator 222, breaking down the matchups and giving you his picks. Can Chael Sonnen pull the upset against Lyoto Machida? Which fighter will advance to the finals of the Welterweight Grand Prix, as Rory MacDonald and Neiman Gracie battle it out in the semifinals?
