There’s no sport in the world quite like football. Wherever you go in the world, someone will be sporting a Manchester United or Liverpool jersey, and no matter what sports bar you visit for a drink, you’ll see football streamed live from somewhere.
Knowing this, Evolution Gaming took the simplest card game imaginable, gave it a football theme, added in some live dealers who know a thing or two, and created a whole new live dealer game for online casino players to enjoy.
So, what is Football Studio? How does it work? What can you win and lose? I’ll cover all of that and more in this brief Football Studio review.
Football Studio – How It Works
This may be the simplest live dealer game I have ever played. It’s a variant of Dragon Tiger with a football theme. This is what happened when I played.
I decided to play Football Studio at my favourite UK casino site. I loaded £50 into my account then clicked game. Within seconds, I was sitting in front of a live dealer in a football-themed studio.
A digital betting board indicated my betting options. I could wager on home, away, or draw. Again, this is just like Dragon Tiger in which the betting options are dragon, tiger, and tie.
I wagered £1 on home just to test the game. I noticed that I could see what the other players were betting on as a percentage on the screen. When I played, the majority (73% were betting on away). Being a contrarian, that only made me more confident in my home bet.
The dealer then dealt two cards face up. The highest card wins in this game. On this occasion, home got 10 and away got 8, so I won my bet at even money.
After that, the dealer opened another betting round, and the game started all over again. The whole thing was very quick from start to finish.
I’m a big fan of Dragon Tiger, and I love football. Therefore, I have to recommend this game. You don’t need to be a genius to play it; in fact, it’s so simple that a child could learn it within a few hands. I repeat, this is Dragon Tiger with a football theme. Give it a try and see if you like it.
Football Studio – Tips and Tricks
Being such a simple card game, there aren’t too many strategies and tips you can use to win Football Studio. However, there are some things about this game which are worth knowing before you play.
Home and away bets pay even money (1:1). If you wager on the draw bet, you can win 11:1.
You can also bet on either home/away and a tie at the same time. If you do, the tie bet will pay 11:1, and you’ll get half your stake back on the other bet.
The best action will occur during live football matches. The dealers will commentate on different games and will celebrate as teams score, etc. Therefore, for the best gaming experience, it might be best to play during a big game. The atmosphere in the studio can get wild!
You can bet between £1 and £10,000 per hand at most Evolution Gaming casinos. This game is suitable no matter what your budget is.
One major difference between Football Studio and Dragon Tiger is the absence of the suited tie side bet. This can pay 50:1 if a tie bet wins with two cards of the same suit.
As you can see, casino games don’t get any simpler than this. It’s a top card game for football fans. You’ll either love it or hate it.
One Simple Football Studio Strategy You Can Use
Experienced roulette players might have spotted something obvious about Football Studio. The fact that it pays even money on home and away bets means you can use a progressive betting system on it, such as the Martingale system.
I don’t necessarily recommend doing so. One of the flaws of the Martingale is that losses can get seriously out of hand extremely quickly. However, I don’t think that a section on Football Studio strategy would be complete without mentioning it.
To use the Martingale strategy, double your previous losing bet on home or away. For example, if you bet £1 on home and lose, bet £2 on the next bet. If you lose again, bet £4, and so on. With even money bets, you’ll eventually win back all you have lost plus your original stake.
Please exercise caution when using this strategy. There’s nothing to say that you can’t lose 10 or 20 times in a row, demolishing your bankroll in the process. This betting system is best suited to roulette. Although, even on that game, it’s still risky.
If you feel that you’re on a lucky streak, you could also try the Reverse Martingale system. This time, you double a previous winning bet until you have won three times, then reset. For example, if you bet £1 and win, bet £2 next time. If you win again, bet £4, and if you’re lucky enough to have won three bets in a row, stop and go back to your original stake.
Your Questions About Football Studio Answered
Can I Play Football Studio on My Mobile Device?
Yes, I tried it on my own mobile device. I played the game on my Android smartphone, and it worked perfectly. I also gave it a try on my iMac, and it was an even better experience due to the larger screen size. However, the original question was whether Football Studio works on mobile. Yes, it does.
Can I Watch Live Football Games as I Play?
No, you won’t be able to see the game on the screen. I think Evolution Gaming is missing out here, as they could increase the number of players if they did stream certain football matches. As things stand, the dealer can see the matches on a monitor, but you can’t. You’ll know when something major happens, though, because the dealers react and commentate throughout.
Is Live Football Studio Open to American Players?
We regret to inform you that it’s not. Most Evolution Gaming casinos don’t accept US players because of the UIGEA regulations. There are signs that things are slowly changing, though, so keep an eye on our site for any future updates.
