Daily Fantasy Basketball Bargain Buys For Friday at DraftKings
After a light Thursday night, it’s time to get amped up for a jam-packed Friday of NBA games. That makes for a ton of fun in daily fantasy basketball, as there are plenty of big GPPs to take advantage of over at DraftKings.
Let’s get you started off on the right foot by pointing out the top value plays listed at $6k or cheaper that you may want to use tonight:
PG: Jeff Teague – Hawks ($5.9k), Jeremy Lin – Hornets ($5.8k), George Hill – Pacers ($5.7k) and Tony Parker – Spurs ($4.9k)
Teague and every other Hawks player spread things out in their last game, but he’s been golden lately and we can still lean on that 53-point fantasy gem he laid last week. He may not do that again, but he’s on fire right now and a very good price.
Lin’s value is hinged to the status of Kemba Walker. Lin crushed it last game with Walker out, so if he gets the start again, he’ll be one of the top chalk plays of the night.
Hill has been pretty solid and remains a good price, and you know he’ll get a ton of run due to his outside stroke and top notch defense. A road date with the Hawks isn’t ideal, but he’ll get good run and could be needed for some offense.
Parker is just too cheap to ignore on this slate. He’s got a good matchup against Dallas and Manu Ginobili is out, which could open the door to more minutes. He can go spare all too easily, but the value and upside is there for the taking.
SG: Rodney Hood – Jazz ($5.9k), Avery Bradley – Celtics ($5.5k), J.R. Smith – Cavs ($5.3k), J.J. Redick – Clippers ($5.1k) and Danny Green – Spurs ($4.6k)
Hood went full spare last night, but had otherwise been very solid as one of Utah’s top scorers. He could get back into the swing of things on Friday in a positive matchup with the Bucks.
Few guards are as erratic as Bradley, but he still deserves a mention as he’s shown lately how quickly he can erupt, yet he’s not even close to $6k. He is risky, but the price is nice and he did pour in 34 fantasy points the last time he battled the Cavs.
Redick is very up and down right now (had under 10 fantasy points last game), but he’s a great price and is still badly needed in L.A.’s offense. He can go off at anytime and tonight against the Magic wouldn’t be a shocking time to see it happen (#revenge, and all).
Danny Green is one more shooting guard to consider, as Manu Ginobili is out with a groin issue and he’s going to soak up extra run. He exploded last game with 31 fantasy points, so some extra minutes will only do him some good against the Mavs.
SF: Tobias Harris – Magic ($5.8k), Jeff Green – Grizzlies ($5.7k), Otto Porter – Wizards ($5.6k) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist – Hornets ($5.2k)
Harris is very hit or miss but he can do it all and gets consistent run with the young Magic. The Clippers don’t really have anyone that can top him with Blake Griffin out, so he looks like a solid value play for tonight.
Jeff Green is my worst nightmare, but he’s been ablaze lately. I don’t love his price based on how volatile he can be, but it’s tough to knock a guy who has put up 20+ points in four straight games.
Porter has slowly worked his way back from an injury and logged 32 minutes last game, so it looks like you can trust him again. He had creeped up well over $6k, so he’s a bargain tonight.
MKG is without a doubt the top value for tonight’s slate, as he remains dirt cheap for a guy who does a little bit of everything and has a big role in Charlotte.
PF: Dirk Nowitzki – Mavs ($5.9k), Zach Randolph – Grizzlies ($5.9k), Jordan Hill – Pacers ($5.9k) and Taj Gibson – Bulls ($5.8k)
Dirk went nuts in his last game against Miami and usually gets up to play the Spurs, who he will battle Friday night. He is again a very strong value and should be up for this one, putting him in line for 30+ fantasy points.
Z Bo is always a risk due to his bench role, but he crushed last time out with 38 fantasy points. He’s going to be worth a shot at this price, as he’s facing a beatable Knicks matchup.
Hill was a big disappointment last time out due to foul trouble, but if Ian Mahinmi remains sidelined, he’s very much in play. The same goes for Gibson, who lacks a high ceiling but is pretty safe. You ca expect 25-30 fantasy points from him on Friday.
C: Jahlil Okafor – 76ers ($6k), Nikola Jokic – Nuggets ($5.9k) and Zaza Pachulia – Mavs ($5.7k)
Okafor was back in the starting lineup last game, and while any Sixers player is going to be a risk, he can always blow up offensively. He’s a good value, but hopefully he starts seeing more than the 25 minutes he saw in his last game.
Jokic topped 20 fantasy points against a tough Jazz interior defense, so he feels quite for real these days. He’s been a bit of a machine and can do it all, so as long as he’s at this price he’ll be in play. The same goes for Zaza, who was wrecking for about a month until he got hurt. He’s been a little saggy lately but he’s a good price and still has a solid role as the Mavs’ starting center.
