Wednesday hath returned and it’s been far too long since we dug deep at DraftKings to find you some of the best pure value buys in daily fantasy basketball.
We last saw you on Friday night, when guys like Brad Beal, Al-Farouq Aminu and Serge Ibaka may have helped you win some fat cash. Let’s return to the well as we prepare for a fully loaded night of DFS action:
Note: We’re rolling up our sleeves and getting even tighter with our value buys, as we keep the pricing below $5k for tonight.
Point guard is top-heavy again with Russ Westbrook and Stephen Curry, but if you want to roster them together (I do, I do!) you will have to take a dive somewhere. Staying at the position and going deep with McConnell and Delly is one route. McConnell is a Sixer and that alone can lead to an untimely death in DFS, but he handed out 12 dimes in his last game and appears to be better than we all thought. If he can add some points he might be a real threat to the pedestrian Isaiah Canaan.
Delly is a little safer and slightly more expensive, as he’s getting mad run and making the most of it. He’s also dishing out assists at a nice rate and he can hit the three and also get some steals.
Collison is the best point guard value play of the night, however, as he’s under-priced for his run and potential. He’s getting about 30 minutes per game and it’s only a matter of time before he blows up. He’s returning just enough value at this price, but in an up-tempo game with the Suns tonight, he might crush his price.
Baze has been ablaze with two 30+ fantasy point efforts in his last three contests and 20+ fantasy points in all three. He is always going to be hit or miss, but tonight he gets a Nets team ranking way at the bottom in three point percentage and three pointers allowed. He’s looking even better if Kyle Korver (ankle) rests.
Sauce Castillo is starting and suddenly getting really nice run, as he’s chipped in 12+ actual points in both court appearances this year. His role seems rock solid, so he’s got the green light to fire from deep and it looks like he can help a bit just about everywhere – dimes, steals, rebounds. He won’t mash in those spots, though, so he better be hitting three’s and getting some buckets. I think he can do that against a shaky Bucks defense on Wednesday.
Iso Joe has been pretty “meh” this year, but he did come around a bit with 27 fantasy points in his last outing. The Hawks are no joke usually, but this is a “true revenge” game as Johnson returns to his old stomping grounds. He typically lights up teams he used to play for, so I’m liking him a bit tonight at this price.
I don’t know how long Evan Fournier’s current tirade will last, but I’m eating it up while it’s here. Fournier is starting and has the green light to provide Orlando with offense. He’s also got a versatile skill-set, so even though he mostly scores he does a lot of other stuff to help you out. That can’t be under sold at this price.
Porzingis has a neck issue but he rocked the Spurs last game and he should be fine to face the Cavs. The matchup is OK and he’s now a double-double threat that can hit from deep. He’s a solid value play, but if he sits you have to consider Derrick Williams and/or Kyle O’Quinn.
Booker is the real value play at PF and possibly of the night, in general. Normal starter Derrick Favors is feeling under the weather and there’s a chance he sits out on Wednesday. Booker is a spare as a backup if Favors starts, but if he’s out Booker will have a big role against a weak Portland squad at home.
Ezili has been pretty solid with Andrew Bogut away, as he just cleaned up in his last game with 30+ fantasy points. Bogut could be back tonight, but if not, Ezili remains a killer value in a huge matchup with the Clippers.
Trill might be the top value play at center, as he logged 34 minutes last night and produced over 20 fantasy points despite having to deal with Marc Gasol. Tonight he’ll be involved in a fast-paced game with the Suns and DeMarcus Cousins is still out, so the value is obvious.
Not every single one of these guys will work out, so be sure to only use the guys you really like and agree with the logic on. Beyond that, have fun filling out your daily fantasy basketball lineups tonight and don’t forget who told you about these killer value buys when you win all of the money!
