For many years, only Nevada was legally allowed to offer sports betting odds. In May of 2018, this changed. The US Supreme Court struck down PASPA, allowing each state to set laws on the sports betting industry.
Several states quickly began introducing legislation to legalize their sports gambling markets. New Jersey was one of the first states to officially launch a sportsbook. Now, both online gambling and land-based sports betting are completely legal here.
11 states now have regulated sports betting industries. Many are currently working to allow this form of gambling. Based on the way things are moving forward, it’s likely that every state in the country will soon have legal sports betting options.
There are also a huge number of great online sportsbooks in the US that are available in every single state. Most of these websites offer even more betting odds than the top land-based sportsbooks in Las Vegas.
