  • Jordan Poole is the most popular bet for Most Improved Player.
  • Poole has the most tickets and highest betting handle for the MIP betting at BetMGM.
  • The Warriors’ backup guard has moved to a tie with Michael Porter Jr. for the best odds to win the award at +1000 via the Barstool Sportsbook.

Jordan Poole’s name has suddenly emerged in the NBA’s Most Improved Player betting market.

This early, Poole has already gained attention in the betting arena. At online sportsbook BetMGM, Poole is the most popular bet for Most Improved Player with the most number of betting tickets and the highest betting handle among all contenders.

The Golden State Warriors’ reserve guard is making a lot of noise in the preseason and if he can carry this high-level play during the regular campaign, he could be headed for a breakout year and yes, perhaps the nod as the league’s most improved player at the next NBA Awards night.

Poole Red Hot in Preseason

Poole averaged 21.8 points per game for the Warriors in five preseason games. He scored a total of 109 points in five games, the second-most by any player during the preseason, with only Tyler Herro’s 112 more than his production. Don’t forget that Poole did this while playing alongside Steph Curry in the Warriors’ starting backcourt.

With Klay Thompson not expected to return at least until Christmas Day, Poole will be given the task to start alongside Curry in the Golden State backcourt. And judging from the way he played during their five exhibition games, it looks like Jordan Poole is more than ready to play the role of acting Splash Brother. Not only did Poole score at will during the preseason, but he also knocked down 40% of his three-pointers.

Golden State has the 4th best odds to win the 2022 NBA title at +1200 and the second-best odds to top the Western Conference at +550. After finishing with a perfect 5-0 mark with back-to-back blowout wins over the Los Angeles Lakers, it looks like the Warriors are ready to live up to their billing. So is Jordan Poole.

Tied for Best Odds to Win Most Improved Player

With his preseason exploits, Poole has climbed to the top of the Barstool Sportsbook Most Improved Player of the Year betting board. The Warriors’ guard is now tied with Michael Porter Jr. for the best odds to win the award at +1000. L.A. Clippers’ Terrance Mann and Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kevin Porter Jr. are next at +1200 while OKC’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander completed the Top 5 at +1600.

Poole has also moved to third in the latest BetMGM Most Improved Player betting board at +1600 where he is in a tie with Memphis Grizzlies big man Jaren Jackson. Michael Porter Jr. and Kevin Porter Jr. are the only players with shorter odds than him at +750 and +900. The two Porters – MPJ and KPJ, are also 1-2 via PointsBet at +1000 and +1200 while Poole and Jackson are third at +1400. Poole at +1200 is in solo third at the BetOnline App behind Michael Porter Jr. at +800 and Keving Porter Jr. at +1000

Aside from being one of the betting favorites to win Most Improved Player, Poole is also among the names in the early Sixth Man of the Year odds boards. He is currently in the Top 10 in most of the best NBA sportsbooks with prices ranging from +2000 to +2800. Poole is even third at +1400 via PointsBet and 4th at +900 via BetOnline.
