NASCAR Is Thinking Global with Its New International Sports Betting Deal

While there are several sports leagues trying to lobby for legalized sports betting in various states, it looks like NASCAR has taken things to a whole new level. Thanks to a new international deal with IMG Arena, NASCAR will now be opened up to international sportsbook operators to actually livestream the races.

This is a first for the sport and the London-based IMG Arena seems just as excited about the deal. The announced deal has IMG Arena licensing official NASCAR assets in order to create what is being called a virtual sports betting game.

This game will replicate some of the most well-known and popular NASCAR tracks such as Talladega Superspeedway, Daytona International Speedway, and Watkins Glen International.

An Exciting Venture for All Parties

The virtual sports betting game will be developed by Leap Gaming which will then give sports betting operators from all over the world the ability to use it. Of course, for those familiar with IMG Arena, it may not come as much of a surprise that it is expanding into NASCAR as it offers a wide array of virtual sports betting products.

Some of its products include greyhound racing, cycling, tennis, speedway racing, horse racing, and football. Making the deal even more exciting is the fact that this long-term partnership will also include livestream NASCAR Cup Series races, which is a first for international sports betting operators.

Freddie Longe, Executive Vice President and Managing Director at IMG ARENA, discussed what it means to add NASCAR to their gaming portfolio:

“Adding NASCAR to our client roster is a proud achievement. The brand is renowned in sport and entertainment with the high-octane race series providing must-watch, appointment-viewing content for more than 70 years. The partnership significantly bolsters our streaming and official virtual sports offering with a product that we expect to be popular in a number of different markets.”

And, it’s not just IMG Arena that is enthused about the partnership deal, NASCAR is just as excited to kick start the deal and open up a whole new era of NASCAR and sports betting. Scott Warfield, Managing Director of Gaming for NASCAR, commented on the deal for the sport:

“IMG ARENA is the leading partner for global sports and entertainment media. We are excited to work together to provide a global audience the ability to engage with our sport virtually and in real-time,” said. “The international sports gaming landscape is mature and vibrant, and this partnership allows us to offer compelling products that further enhance our international footprint.”

IMG Arena – A Huge Power Player in the Industry

IMG Arena is a real force to reckon with as it currently operates over 460 different sportsbooks located all around the world. Within that grouping there are all kinds of 24/7 livestreams meant to complement its virtual gaming library. It’s a one-stop shop if you will when it comes to all things virtual gaming and sports betting.

For NASCAR to partner up with such a large and established company, it speaks volumes to where its focus lies in the coming months and years. Of all the professional sports leagues in the United States, NASCAR seems the most eager to partner with the sports betting industry.
