  • The Carolina Panthers at -2.5 against the New York Giants are the most bet Week 7 team at BetOnline with 95% of the total bets.
  • New England’s 89% as seven-point spread favorites against the New York Jets are the second-highest percentage of bets for the week.
  • Kansas City is the  third most bet team with 84% of the total bets written for them as 4.5 point favorites against Tennessee.

The Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots are looking to right the ship when they face separate opponents on Sunday.

Carolina has dropped three in a row while New England is 1-3 SU in their last four games played. However, both teams have a chance to get back on the winning side as they face the league’s New York teams who have a combined 2-7 SU and 3-6 ATS records this season.

The Panthers have opened as 2.5 point betting favorites against the 1-5 New York Giants while the Patriots have hit the betting boards as 7-point chalk against the New York Jets. But not only are Carolina and New England favored to win their respective games, but the two teams also have the highest number of bets in the early betting numbers from online sportsbook BetOnline:

95% of the bets for the Panthers-Giants game have been placed on Carolina while 89% of the bets for the Patriots-Jets game have been wagered on New England, making the Panthers and Patriots the most heavily bet teams for Week 7.

Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs, who are 4.5 point favorites over the Tennessee Titans are the third most bet team with 84% of the total wagers. But there’s nothing surprising about KC’s odds really, despite their record. The Panthers and the Patriots though are interesting as popular bets.

Panthers Place CMC on IR for Three Games

The Panthers head to New York with a three-game losing streak and after they placed star running back Christian McCaffrey to the IR for three games. But despite those, Carolina opened as a -2.5 point favorite against the New York Giants who have more key players on the IR.

Saquon Barkley, Kenny Golladay, a95%nd Kadarius Toney didn’t practice for the Giants on Wednesday, perhaps signaling they will not be available for them again on Sunday. That means that Daniel Jones’ best weapon will be Sterling Shepard who had 10 catches for 76 yards against the Rams last week.

Carolina opened the season 3-0 SU and ATS but has gone 0-3 SU and ATS ever since. The Giants are just 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS this season so while Carolina is struggling, New York looks to be reeling and this might be just what the doctor ordered for the Panthers to get their season back on track. 95% of the BetOnline bettors agree.

Patriots Look to Flip the Script

The Patriots are 2-4 SU and ATS after six weeks and they will try to flip the switch against the Jets. New England has covered only once as betting favorites in four-game but that game was when they beat well, the Jets 25-6 in week 2. That was less just about a month ago and with no changes on either side, you can’t blame the 89% of bettors who are laying one touchdown on the Pats this weekend.

The Jets snapped a four-game losing streak by beating the Tennessee Titans 27-24 but went back to their losing ways against the Falcons last week, 20-27. New York is 1-4 SU and ATS this season but they are coming off a bye week so they are well-rested. The rest is a double-edged sword though because while they could look fresh on Sunday, New York was playing better in Weeks 4 and 5 before the break.

New England has dominated this matchup. They have won each of the last 10 head-to-head meetings against the Jets while also covering the betting spread in seven of those games. New York is also just 5-15 ATS in their last 20 games against the AFC East and is also winless in their last 10 trips to Gillette Stadium.
