PokerStars Celebrates First Anniversary of Spin & Go’s with Special Buy-In Levels
My daughter turns 9-years old next week and as cliché as it is, it seems like just yesterday that I was up all night with her as she routinely cried until daybreak as an infant. Ah, good times. I WISH I could be up all night playing Spin & Go’s on PokerStars, but as I live in the United States, I can’t. But it still feels like only yesterday that they debuted on the world’s largest online poker site, even though the popular Lottery Sit & Go variety is now celebrating its first birthday on PokerStars. As such, the site has a special promo running, giving players more opportunity to win a million dollars.
Now before you start making a list of ways to spend your new-found wealth, keep in mind that the chances of winning are still slim to none. But hey, if you focus on the “slim” part of that, might as well play if you were going to, anyway, because it’s not “none.”
PokerStars has added two new buy-in levels for duration of this promotion: $0.50 (Bronze) and $5 (Silver). They are played just the same as any Spin & Go – three-handed, hyper turbo, small starting stacks, winner-take-all except for the three top prize tiers. The prize multiplier tiers are the same as normal, as well, except for at the very top, where first prize is $1 million. That equates to a 2,400,000x multiplier at the Bronze level and a 240,000x multiplier at the Silver level. Second and third prizes are $100,000 each.
Here is a look at the extreme small probabilities of spinning each buy-in multiplier:
Bronze – $0.50 Buy-in
- 2,400,000x – 3 in 100,000,000
- 240x – 4,000 in 100,000,000
- 120x – 8,000 in 100,000,000
- 25x – 50,000 in 100,000,000
- 10x – 100,000 in 100,000,000
- 6x – 7,500,000 in 100,000,000
- 4x – 17,477,003 in 100,000,000
- 2x – 74,860,994 in 100,000,000
Silver – $5 Buy-in
- 2,400,000x – 3 in 10,000,000
- 240x – 400 in 10,000,000
- 120x – 800 in 10,000,000
- 25x – 5,000 in 10,000,000
- 10x – 10,000 in 10,000,000
- 6x – 750,000 in 10,000,000
- 4x – 1,897,703 in 10,000,000
- 2x – 7,336,094 in 10,000,000
If you are hoping to hit that million dollar prize, hey, I admire your rosy outlook on life.
There is also a Gold buy-in level of $100, but that is exactly the same as it has always been.
PokerStars is also giving players the opportunity to win free buy-ins by completing daily challenges. There are three such challenges: play three real money Sit & Go’s (Spin & Go’s count), play in one real money scheduled tournament, and play in 30 real money ring games hands. Each completed challenge comes with a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Spin & Go ticket, but really, it’s Bronze, as according to PokerStars chart, Bronze will be awarded 95 percent of the time. You have about as much of a chance of receiving the extremely valuable $5 Silver ticket as you do of hitting a two-outer on the river: 4.90 percent. The other nearly zero percent of the time, the prize will be a Gold ticket.
One player, Brazil’s Samara Lúcio, has already won a million bucks in one of the special $5 Spin & Go’s.
