Trump Gets Special Attention from Bookmakers

It’s no secret that US president Donald Trump has been the focus of media attention since his inauguration in January. However, what most may not know is the amount of attention he’s receiving from the world’s bookmakers, as well. Prop bets, those bets detailing a specific series of events or set of circumstances, are popping up everywhere. Some of them are humorous, some of them have big political implications, but one thing is for sure, they offer punters the ability to garner real rewards from the world’s most unreadable President.

Trump has been characterized by many voters and officials as a threat to the status quo in terms of the Global political processes. He offers little if any justification for what many consider to be backwards policy decisions and his appointments are catawampus to what most might expect from a president charged with making the best decisions for the nation.

With a first month rife in events, Bookmakers are now offering some of the most undeniably creative props to be found at sportsbooks. Take for instance a few choice morsels:

Impeachment

Numerous bookmakers are looking at Trumps performance as president leading to an impeachment before his term has run its course. Notables like Ladbrokes have put the odds for Trumps dishonorable discharge at 11/10, and Paddy Power has offered 4/1 with the odds of a resignation from iconic personality at 15/8.

American State Succession

There’s been a lot of talk, particularly from California and Texas, about succeeding from the US in the past. It’s a drastic move, but one that has been floating around the world’s 5th largest economy and longhorn state for decades. As more and more regions get fed up with Trump’s policy, the likelihood of breaking off increases. Paddy Power currently puts the odds of a state seeking independence at 66/1.

Nobel Prize

The running gag is that at this rate, President Trump will surely be awarded a Nobel Prize for his efforts in foreign affairs and the global peace process. Some bookies, like Ladbrokes are taking the joke further by offering 100/1 odds of it taking place in 2017.

Twitter Ban

It’s no secret that Twitter is President Trump’s preferred method of communication with the American people and the people of the world. However, his often inflammatory have landed him in hot water more than once. Paddy Power puts a potential ban from Twitter as a longshot on the list at 50/1 odds.

Next Country To Suffer A Travel Ban

Perhaps in its biggest decision since taking office, the administration’s decision to ban a number of Middle Eastern and North African countries’ citizens from gaining access to family, friends, and visas in the US has been in the news for weeks. Paddy Power odds are offered on North Korea (9/1), Belgium (16/1), Russia (20/1), France (25/1), Canada (33/1), Germany (33/1), being next on the list, just to name a few.

Next Family Business Fallout

In a sideshow of its own, Investors have been pulling out of retail agreements with Ivanka Trump quite regularly. Many speculate the amount of retailers seeking to distance themselves from the Trump name will only increase in the near future. Paddy Power props put the first choice at retailer T.K. Maxx (4/1), with Walmart (5/1), and Amazon (6/1), coming in shortly behind.

Divorce Proceedings

News outlets and pop-culture commentators are in a frenzy over their perceived relationship status between Melania and Donald Trump. Many think of their dynamic as crumbling from the inside. Divorce is on the lips of many, with odds offered on the act from Paddy Power to the tune of 16/1.
