VSiN and Ocean Resort Team Up for Sports Gambling Broadcast
Ocean Resort Casino’s William Hill Sports Book is going to be the new location for VSiN, a country-wide syndicated weekend sports betting show.
The Las Vegas gambling and sports betting outlet Vegas Stats & Information Network is partnering with Ocean Resort and Casino to offer new weekend sports betting programming. VSiN host Jonathan Von Tobel and former NFL exec Mike Lombardi will anchor the 10 am broadcasts, which will air live on Saturday and Sundays from the William Hill Sports Book at Ocean Resort. This time slot will allow for football gamblers to listen before NFL and college kickoffs.
VSiN’s Perspective of this New Venture
Brent Musburger and his brother Todd Musburger created Vegas Stats & Information Network in 2017. Brent is the lead on-air personality, and has also worked for ESPN and CBS Sports. The company is backed by Ryan Howard, former Phillies All-Star, and SeventySix Capital, his venture capital firm.
According to the Press of Atlantic City, Brian Musburger made the following comments about this new deal:
“As legalization continues to expand across the country, VSiN will be where it needs to be to cover these markets. Bruce Deifik’s Ocean Resort has made a significant commitment to the sports betting scene in New Jersey by opening the most impressive sports book in Atlantic City.”
Speaking of Mike Lombardi who will co-anchor the new show, Brian Musburger said,
“Michael impressed us immediately with his ability to relate to sports bettors with the insights they need to make informed decisions. He’ll make a great addition to a team dedicated to delivering the news and analysis needed by the growing number of Americans wagering on sports.”
About the VSiN Hosts
Former NFL executive Mike Lombardi won three Super Bowl Rings with the Patriots and 49ers in his 25 years working in NFL front offices. He works right now as a writer for The Athletic. Jonathan Von Tobel is a VSiN host of The Green Zone and The Edge. A Las Vegas native, he came onboard VSiN in February 2017 as its first on-air producer. He will make the commute from Las Vegas to do the shows with Lombardi.
Ocean Resort Casino
Ocean Resort Casino, formerly called Revel Casino Hotel Atlantic City, is a hotel, casino, and resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Revel closed in 2014 and was re-opened on June 27, 2018 as the Ocean Resort Casino. The casino partnered with William Hill in May 2018 to offer sports gambling and in July, launched an online casino with more than 50 slot games. Players have to be at least 21 and in the state of New Jersey to play.
Bruce Deifik is the owner of Ocean Resort Casino. Talking about the sports book, he said,
“Our goal for the William Hill Sports Book at Ocean Resort Casino is to maintain its status as the new epicenter for sports betting on the East Coast. So, to be able to enhance that reputation by partnering with broadcast pioneer VSiN and esteemed industry leaders Brent and Brian Musburger was an easy and exciting decision for us to make.”
Ocean Resort’s William Hill Sportsbook
The 7,500-square-foot sportsbook at Ocean Resort Casino is right in the middle of the gaming floor. The sportsbook has luxurious seating for players, with beverage service and charging stations, surrounded by LED ribbon boards and the largest screens in Atlantic City. The sportsbook opened for business on June 28, when Mark Wahlberg placed the ceremonial first bets.
Joe Asher, who is the CEO of William Hill US., was excited to talk about this new venture:
“We are very excited to be the first sports book on the Atlantic City boardwalk, and to be a part of Ocean Resort Casino. William Hill offers the most sports betting options in the state of New Jersey, and, with our loyalty program, we are proud to offer the best sports book experience in Atlantic City.”
The sportsbook’s location makes it as a pass-through between the two different sides of the property, which means it has great exposure for people making their way to different locations within the casino.
Sports betting shows have become an exciting way to discuss and analyze the various sports wagering opportunities and events available each week. GamblingSites.org has also ventured into this newly created industry with a weekly sports betting show called “Odds On Favorites”
