Week 4 Daily Fantasy Football: Andy Dalton and the Top Value Buys at DraftKings
Looking to win big in daily fantasy football this week? You’ll need some solid bargain picks to piece together the perfect lineup. Two weeks ago it may have been Travis Benjamin and DeAngelo Williams that could have carried you to big money. Last week it may have been Devonta Freeman and Tyrod Taylor. This week? Who even knows.
It’s growing increasingly more difficult to accurately prognosticate in fantasy football, but all we can do is look at the pricing DraftKings hands out and point out the top values we see at each position. It’s up to you to bite or pass.
With that, here’s the guys we think will easily beat out their pricing for week four:
Note: To ensure we’re digging deep in the value bin, no player listed will cost more than $6k.
Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals ($5.9k)
The Red Rifle has been a total machine so far this year, as he’s put up 8 TDs to just one pick. Last week he scored four total touches and passed for nearly 400 yards and this week he gets a Chiefs pass defense that Aaron Rodgers worked to the tune of 5 touchdowns. Yeah.
Derek Carr, QB, Oakland Raiders ($5.3k)
Carr gave off the feeling of a total fantasy bust after getting hurt in week one, but stormed back in week two and three to deliver awesome 300+ yard performances. Oakland is winning and he’s looking good in the process. This week he’s on the road at Soldier Field against a bad Bears defense. To make matters worse for Chicago, Jimmy Clausen is under center. Turnovers could be aplenty, which would mean a short field for Carr. He’s in for a huge week again and you’re paying almost the minimum to use him.
Karlos Williams, RB, Buffalo Bills ($3.4k)
Bills head coach Rex Ryan already admitted it “doesn’t look good” for LeSean McCoy in week four, while Williams has already been producing solid results as a backup rusher. This week the ball should be all his at home against a shaky Giants defense. Even if he’s not elite, you just can’t pass up this price and the value at hand.
Alfred Blue, RB, Houston Texans ($3.9k)
Arian Foster could be back this week, but if he’s not, you have to consider using Blue, who finally broke out last week with 139 yards and a rushing touchdown. If Foster returns Blue is useless, of course, and at that point you could either dip your toe back in the Devonta Freeman pool ($5.2k) or try Fred Jackson is Marshawn Lynch ends up sitting out this week.
James Jones, WR, Green Bay Packers ($5.3k)
Davante Adams is banged up and Jones already has a role, so there’s no reason not to love him in week four. He’s to be had at a killer value and faces a 49ers defense that has gotten absolutely torched in successive weeks. Enter Aaron Rodgers, who could connect with James Jones for a score or two this week.
John Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals ($5.1k)
Brown is inching closer to a breakout game, I can just feel it. Larry Fitzgerald has scored five times in the past two weeks, but Brown let a long score slip through his fingers last week and is nearing a blow up game. He’s a strong value at this price, so regardless of whether or not this is the week he goes nuts, he’s worth using.
Jordan Reed, TE, Washington Redskins ($4.5k)
Reed is one of the most athletic tight ends in the game today, and luckily he’s also among the most targeted. His quarterback stinks (Kirk Cousins) but he at least loves throwing to Reed, who has had at least 6 catches in every single game so far this year. Make it four in a row and possibly a score against a beatable Eagles defense.
Ladarius Green, TE, San Diego Chargers ($3.2k)
Green sat out last week due to a concussion but he’ll likely be back and ready to rock in week four. With just one more chance to go nuts before Antonio Gates returns from suspension, I have a feeling he could do serious damage this week. He gets a solid matchup against the Browns at home and his price is insane, so try him out if it makes sense with your roster.
Buffalo Bills Team Defense ($3k)
Buffalo has been absolutely dominant two times in the first three weeks and now they’re at home against Eli Manning and the Giants. If you don’t like paying up for defense (who does?) then they’re a solid try and at quality value.
Oakland Raiders Team Defense ($2.6k)
Oakland saves even more money this week and their defense appears to be getting better by the week. More importantly, they’re going up against what figures to still be a Jimmy Clausen-led Bears offense. Clausen managed to amass 63 passing yards last week in a shutout loss to the Seahawks. Oakland is a fun sleeper to roll with if you want to stack big name studs.
There’s plenty of value to be had in daily fantasy football leagues in week four and this is probably just the top of the iceberg. Go do your own DFS sleeper hunting and let us know later on how it worked out.
