IEM Katowice Legends Stage Betting Picks

Here comes the main part of this article! However, it does have a small twist to its tail! You see, due to Katowice’s dynamic ELO-based system, some of these matchups are pretty much one-way roads. Astralis vs compLexity, and Team Liquid vs AVANGAR are the two that stand out the most. That said, I won’t be giving you predictions for all eight first-round matches. Nope! Instead, I’ll give you more detailed approaches at the three most interesting matchups and then spice things up with a couple of value and special bets. You’re in for quite a few shockers, I promise.

So, without further ado, let’s dig right into it!

(-200) Natus Vincere vs G2 Esports (+140)

Let’s start this IEM Katowice Legends Stage Betting Picks section with a potential Bo1 upset right off the bat. For this match, I’m thinking of going with G2 Esports at +140 on a mid-stake single betting slip. Why? Well, NaVi has been going up and down lately, their consistency being a major disappointment. Plus, they haven’t had a proper bootcamp prior to this tournament which could greatly affect their first-match performance. G2 Esports, on the other hand, are already warmed up thanks to their Challengers Stage adventure. If KennyS has a good day, the French side could very well take the W.

Pick: G2 Esports at +140

(-182) NRG Esports vs Ninjas in Pyjamas (+130)

NRG Esports is coming into this match on a 15-match win streak. Yup, this NA side suffered their last defeat on December 6th during the ESL Pro League Finals. Since then, they’ve been a force to be reckoned with on the Minors and Challengers Stage of the Katowice Major. At the moment, they’re enjoying their gameplay and are looking outright unbeatable. Of course, the real tests are still ahead of them and a win against Ninjas in Pyjamas will put even more wind in their sails.

However, don’t think NiP won’t put up a proper fight. Depending on the map, this one could turn out to be a neck and neck contest. Overtimes could be in charge of deciding the winner here. If everything goes according to NiP’s plans, of course. Despite all that, FugLy and co should see this one through. If you’re feeling lucky (and think this one could go either way), feel free to go with the good old total rounds over 26.5 bet. It currently sits at -118 which seems like the best choice for this matchup.

Pick: Total Rounds Over 26.5 at -118

(-250) MIBR vs Cloud9 (+175)

And lastly, we have an NA classic, MIBR vs Cloud9. Needless to say, Cloud9 has entered this tournament with a skewed roster due to roster lock restrictions. Sure, they’ve managed to beat the odds and qualify for the Legends Stage, but I’m afraid that’s about it as far as their Katowice Major adventure goes. They’ll be going up against highly motivated MIBR roster whose players already have their eyes set on the playoffs. TACO, coldzera and the company will be looking to make a swift win over their NA rivals.

Depending on the map, Cloud9 might put up somewhat of a proper fight. However, I doubt it will matter in the end, MIBR should see this one out without too much hassle. Keep in mind though, -250 is a pretty petty number. If you want something with a bit more risk, make sure you check out the Value and Special bets section right below the recap.

Pick: MIBR at -250

Value and Special Bets | IEM Katowice Major

And now, for the final part of my IEM Katowice Legend Stage Betting Picks article, I’d like to share with you a couple of interesting specials. These don’t necessarily have to be in your main betting slips for the day, but can definitely serve as a spice to some of your high-risk accumulator bets. Let’s check them out real fast, shall we!?

FaZe Clan to Win vs HellRaisers and over 26.5 Rounds at +175

  • FaZe Clan does have a superstar roster and they most likely will win against HellRaisers. However, I doubt it will be as easy as most people predict so I’ll go with this cute little combo for that’s sitting at +175 at the moment.

MIBR to Win vs Cloud9 and Under 26.5 Rounds at +150

  • Cloud9 might be completely obliterated by the all-new MIBR roster. If you’re with me on this one, putting a small bet on MIBR win plus under 26.5 rounds seems like a solid move.

Astralis vs compLexity HE Grenade Kill at -223

  • Knowing Astralis’ proficiency with utility, this one is a proper steal. Molly kill seems like a good option too, although a bit riskier, sitting at -134 at the moment.
Pick: G2 Esports
