On Sunday, June 13th, NASCAR’s Cup Series will run the 37th edition of the sport’s annual All-Star Race. Kyle Busch and 16 other drivers have already clinched a spot in this event.

The rest of the 22 driver field will compete in the All-Star Open for three of the final four spots in the All-Star Race, which takes place at 8pm ET.

Busch is coming into All-Star weekend with some momentum. He’s moved up to 7th in the standings and has finished in the Top 10 for three straight races.

Busch has one win on the year which came at Kansas six races ago. Over that span, he also has four Top 5s and five Top 10s in six races.

At Texas, Busch has been one of the best drivers among the field. Will he continue his success at TMS?

NASCAR All-Star Race Betting Odds: Kyle Busch

  • To Win (+750)
  • Top 3 (+225)
  • Top 5 (+100)
  • Top 10 (-400)

According to NASCAR betting sites, like DraftKings and BetOnline, Kyle Busch is the third highest betting favorite to win the All-Star Race.

There’s plenty of value with his race win, Top 3 and Top 5 wagers. His Top 10 odds don’t offer any value. Based on his resume at Texas, taking Busch to finish in the Top 5 is the smart choice for this weekend’s All-Star event.

Busch’s Experience at Texas

In 30 career starts at Texas Motor Speedway, Busch has four wins, 14 Top 5s, 17 Top 10s and an 11.0 average finish. He’s also finished every race.

Busch leads all active drivers in wins, Top 5s, and laps led. He’s tied with his teammate Martin Truex Jr. for the second most Top 10s with 17. Additionally, Busch has the 3rd best average finish among active drivers with at least three starts at TMS.

In those 30 starts, 26 of them resulted in a Top 20 finish. Yet, it’s the second half of his career at Texas that has been the most impressive. And arguably, the best among any active driver.

In the last 15 races at Texas, Busch has four wins, nine Top 5s, and 11 Top 10s. He’s put together a streak of three straight Top 7 finishes including winning the last time the Cup Series raced at Texas.

In his last three TMS races, Busch has a 4.0 average finish.

Take Busch to Finish in the Top 5 at Texas

Whether it’s over a long period of time or a handful of races, no other driver has a better Texas resume than Kyle Busch. He’s the defending race winner at this track and also won the All-Star Race in 2017.

When you factor in his last six races of the 2021 season along with his impressive body of work at Texas, and being a former All-Star Race winner, Kyle Busch is a great choice to finish in the Top 5 this weekend.

Let’s just hope he does better this weekend than he did throwing out the first pitch at the Giants vs Rangers game on Wednesday. Busch’s pitch went about 15 feet into the ground and then bounced its way to home plate.
